GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION

  • The Perry Preschool Program is located at T. C. Knapp Elementary.
  • The program is designed to meet the needs of all preschool students with varying needs therefore the continuum of special education services is offered.
  • One General Education Classroom
    • Up to 20 children
    • 6 children receive special education services
    • One teacher and one assistant
  • Three Integrated Classrooms
    • Up to 16 children
    • 8 children receive special education services
    •  One teacher and one assistant
  • One Special Education Classroom
    • Up to 12 children
    • 8 children receive multiple special education services
    • One teacher and three assistants
  • Children are placed in a class based on age and developmental level.
  • The morning session is approximately 8:45 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and the afternoon session is approximately 12:45 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Transportation is provided, which includes riding a school bus with other preschoolers and an aide unless other arrangements are made. Busses may transport to addresses, including other childcare/preschool centers, within the Perry Local School District.  Parents may choose to transport their child as well.
  • The preschool follows the district calendar, however, there may be days that are canceled to hold staff meetings, conduct evaluations, conduct screenings, participate in professional development, etc.  Advance notice will be given to parents in these circumstances.  Please see the preschool calendar for more information.

Are you a Perry Local resident?

Do you have a child between the ages of 3 and 5 years old?

Do you have concerns about your child’s development?

 

Did you know that your local school district can help! 

 

Perry Local Schools can provide services, which may include therapies or educational programming to preschool children who are demonstrating a delay within their development that could adversely affect their educational performance. Screenings are held monthly to identify those children who may qualify for these services.

Screening days for the 2021-2022 school year include:

November 15, 2021

December 6, 2021

January 3, 2022

February 7, 2022

March 7, 2022

April 4, 2022

May 16, 2022
